A street artist with a rose in his hand earns his wages through his performances. He’s a sick man and it seems as if he doesn’t have long to live. He takes the law into his own hands when he gets rid of criminals. He also decides to take fellow street artists under his wing to live off of the small income they manage to make.
Toda’s Phantom of the Town is a beautiful film wherein he shows a character study of a man who has little to live for but makes the most of it. The actors Toda collected manage to bring a certain furor to the film which leaves quite an impression on the audience.
